Aguereberry Point

Aguereberry Point
This was taken nearly as far out on Aguereberry Point as we were able to go and looks to the south. it was an incredible view to begin our two day's visit to Death Valley National Park. Aguereberry Point is in the mountains west of Death Valley and is at an elevation of 6433 feet. Over the course of the day we would descend to the lowest point in North America at Badwater (279 feet below sea level) and then up again to 5476 feet at Dante's View in the mountains east of Death Valley.

Wow Ron, this is totally spectacular! The color is so intense. I love the layers of color and tones...red, then black, then blues, orange and then blue again...it's so pretty and dramatic!

Loved your letters...you are always so interesting to me and I really enjoy hearing about your day.

I'm glad you liked my ladybug on Yarrow picture--it's fun to get the buggies on the plants! How nice that you stopped brushing them off the flowers--they are such a wonderful addition to a blossom. Though to be honest--if ever there is a critter, that's my primary interest. They are fleeting, so I will forget about the flower, since there is ample opportunity to get the flower afterwards. However, if I'm able to get a super picture of a critter AND the flower turns out really nicely too...BONUS!! :D I'm usually going to try to get a shallow dof to zero in on the critter and make the flower soft. But that's me and my macro passion.

LOLOL, you and your Indian cuisine...I believe you enjoy torturing me! :D About the injera, yeah, I bet that's a touchy concoction...and just so you don't feel all alone with bread recipes not working out quite right, the hot dog buns that Steve made tonight didn't quite work out as planned. He accidentally put more apple cider vinegar into the recipe than he was supposed to and the result was that they all were nearly flat...and still wet inside...boo...even when he cooked them longer they still were too doughy. Then he got a bright idea...slice in half and FRY the doughy part...AND IT WORKED! Hooray! They were perfectly yummy for our sausage buns and though it may have been nice if they'd been fluffier, the flavor was grand. We've got two pairs left plus a couple of hamburger buns (all flat, lol) but they're fried and will work just fine.

Ok, I gotta go to sleep...I'll continue this tomorrow! :)
