Sacramento Valley

Out of the redwoods and away from the coast we drove to the area of San Francisco where we spent the night. We had intended to drive through San Francisco and follow the coast again, but the new reports were that the coast road around Big Sur was closed with bridges washed out and landslides. We swung over to Highway 5, therefore, and followed it to our destination, seldom stopping except for petrol and food. This was one of the few stops we made at an overlook where we were able to photograph some of the farming country and the unusual colors in the hills to the west.

Happy weekend.

I am finally after 4 years planning (I have a friend there) going to visit SF in October. Its a place I have wanted to see since I was 5 years old and "discovered" the Golden Gate Bridge. Walking that has been a Bucket List thing. Also... I should be able to see some Sequoia's and finally.. the Pacific Ocean. I have seen many seas .. and of course the Atlantic... but the Pacific has eluded me !
Congrats on Explore.
