This was taken at Aguerebarry Point in Death Valley National Park just before we left and headed west to the Town of Panamint Springs and to Darwin Falls.

Aguereberry Point is named after a prospector who lived and worked in the area and is one of our favorite places in Death Valley National Park. We watched the sunrise there on the last day of our 2017 trip to Death Valley and these are some of the photos.

This was first light on the mountains to the north of Aguereberry Point in Death Valley National Park. We had spent the night doing astral photography and sleeping in the car and photographed the sunrise before moving on.

We began our 2017 trip to Death Valley watching the sunrise at Aguereberry Point and ended our 2018 trip the same way. This view looks north from the point just as the peaks are catching the light of the sunrise.

After sleeping the night in the car at Aguereberry Point with several interruptions for some astral photography, my wife and I had breakfast and photographed the sunrise before traveling back to the main road and the town of Panamint Springs. Aguereberry Point is in the Panamint Mountains on the west side of the valley.

This was another night sky photo from Aguereberry Point in Death Valley National Park. My wife helped with the light painting on the rocks in the foreground and with holding a flashlight and keeping time for the long exposures.

This was taken from Aguereberry Point in Death Valley National Park and was another attempt at astral photography. The photo was one of the better attempts, but obviously I'm still learning.

Still learning but this is one of the night sky photos we took from Aguereberry Point in Death Valley National Park. I say "we" because my wife helped with timing the shot, holding the light I needed to see camera settings and providing moral support.

This photo was taken on the last night of our trip to Death Valley National Park as we waited first for sunset and then for darkness and the stars at Aguereberry Point in the Panamint Mountains on the west side of the park.

This was as much of a sunset as we saw on the last night of our stay in Death Valley National Park. Not a spectacular sunset, but sitting with just the two of us watching it was worth as much as the sunset itself.

In March and April we spent seven days in Death Valley National Park. The last night of our stay we drove to Aguereberry Point in the mountains on the west side of the park to watch the sunset, to do some astral photography and to spend the night (see sleep in the back of our van and make our own meals). The sunset didn't amount to much but this was one of the photos taken before sundown looking southeast across the valley.

This is Aguereberry Point in the Panamint Mountains on the west side of Death Valley National Park. From the small parking area we walked along this ridge to the end of the point and watched the sunset there the last night of our stay in Death Valley.

This is the view south from Aguereberry Point in the Panamint Mountains on the west side of Death Valley National Park. We watched the sunset there and spent the night there, the last night of our stay in Death Valley.

After exploring the Eureka Mine and the ghost town of Harrisburg we drove to the end of that road to Aguereberry Point. There were several others there when we arrived and another photographer came while we were there to capture the sunset, but we were alone by the time night fell and spent the night there, the last night of our stay in Death Valley.

After exploring the Eureka Mine and the ghost town of Harrisburg we drove to the end of the road to Aguereberry Point where we had our evening meal, such as it was, watched the sunset and slept the night. This is the view south from the point.

This was taken by my wife on the dirt road from Aguereberry Point in Death Valley National Park where we had watched the sunrise. This road was very rough in spots and one of the worst areas was just ahead of where the photo was taken. There was no one else around and so we felt safe stopping in the road for some photos. We would go on a few miles to the now abandoned Eureka Mine and nearby camp. The van is not only our transportation but our home away from home. My wife has made curtains for the inside and we use the deck for sleeping - we use our backpacking pads and sleeping bags and are comfortable and warm. We have our tiny backpacking stove along for meals and hot drinks.

One more photo taken from Aguereberry Point in Death Valley National Park. We had driven through the night to this secluded spot and waited for the sunrise before going on to other areas of the park. The view is south over Badwater, the lowest area in North America.
