Few-flowered Shooting Star

Few-flowered Shooting Star
The Few-flowered Shooting Star, Dodecatheon pulchellum, is usually found in its common pink form, but this is the white form, which is rarer. We found these in eastern Washington near Medical Lake, a few white-flowered plants among many others. We were out photographing wildflowers in an open woodland and these were the find of the day - found by my wife who has a sharper eye for such things than I do. We also forgot it was tick season - we found six ticks on ourselves afterward, though none of them had begun to bite.

How pretty Ron. My first though was that the flowers looked like little darts, but shooting stars describes them beautifully.
