Lake Ann

We've been traveling, another story in itself on account of winter weather, closed passes, bad roads, and terrible driving conditions, but that is only to say that I haven't been on line much. I'll catch everyone up today and be back on line regularly this week with a few more pictures of our hike to Lake Ann and Curtis Glacier, to be followed by pictures from Mount Rainier National Park.
The story here, though, is of a midsummer hike with friends to this beautiful mountain lake in the North Cascades. We found the lake still frozen over but hiked on to Curtis Glacier and had a very good day of hiking. Another picture of the lake, taken in October is below, and was taken on an overnight backpacking trip. On that occasion we camped at the far end of the lake just to the right of the lake's outlet.
