Along the Trail

Taken on the trail from Lake Anne to Curtis Glacier. When I look again at a picture like this then the smells and memories of the hike come back to me.
"But it’s all still there in my heart and soul. The walk, the hills, the sky, the solitary pain and pleasure—they will grow larger, sweeter, lovelier in the days to come, like a treasure found and then, voluntarily, surrendered. Returned to the mountains with my blessing. It leaves a golden glowing on the mind.”
― Edward Abbey, Beyond the Wall: Essays from the Outside

Two important points call my attention.
In the foreground, the texture on the rock.
And the background image, the wall formed by the mountain in dark tones.
Even with the impression that the mountain is very close, the idea of depth of field is razor sharp and very good.
A great composition.
The natural colors and excellent lighting.
