Herman Saddle

This is Herman Saddle, with the shoulders of Table Mountain to the left and Herman Peak to the right. There is a popular hiking trail through the saddle to Chain Lakes and Table Mountain, a trail that is just visible in spots in the picture below, taken in late summer. If you look closely at the right side of this photo there are two tiny figures on snowshoes headed for the saddle. I did not even realize they were there until I was looking at the picture in preparation for posting it. I should add that though this was taken at sunrise, the saddle and the sky above it are to the west and not toward the sunrise.
