Dendrobium cuthbertsonii

The similarity between this species and the species shown in the previous post should be obvious and they are sometimes considered to be synonymous. This has dark marking on the lip, however, and a different growth habit with thicker and taller growths and pebbled leaves. Both are from the highlands of New Guinea and require cool temperatures and high humidity. The plant here is growing in a 2.5 inch pot and has very large and long-lasting flowers. It actually has two plants growing in the same pot. The flowers on the left side have a darker lip, white markings and a slightly darker flower color. They are now growing separately.
