Blue on Green

Friday, son Edward and I went to do a bit of hiking on Whidbey Island. We were hiking in the area of Cornet Bay and Hoypus Hill in Deception Pass State Park when we came across these blue butterflies sunning themselves on the new growth of the conifers early in the morning.

Which of the Blues this is, I do not know - they are very hard to identify correctly, but we could understand their desire to soak up some sun since we've had precious little of that commodity the past few months. Hopefully the sunny day we had Friday is the beginning of some better weather.
