Minimalism

Minimalism
In Explore October 10, 2011, #250.

After a very busy few weeks I'm back at IMO. Enjoy the group but feel a bit out of my depth. I keep posting though in the hope of learning. This was originally posted on Flickr and at that time I wrote the following comments.

Didn't even know whether I should post this. I have very mixed feelings about it, sometimes I like it and sometimes I think it's completely worthless. Thought I'd leave it to you to judge.

This was taken on Hurricane Ridge In Olympic National Park on a day when we experienced very mixed weather with a lot of clouds and rain showers moving through very quickly.

The flowers are Western Bistort, Polygonum bistortoides, a common alpine perennial in this area, with a few Slender Paintbrush mixed in, along with a few other wildflowers I haven't identified.

IMO, I really like this image. It dramatically shows the impact of fog on a forest meadow. I think that a different crop would make the image more dramatic. I would suggest either eliminating some of the blank area on the left or trying a more vertical crop. This is not really a minimalist shot because of the flowers. It is an awesome nature shot with the fog.
