Neptunbrunnen Ψ

Quelle: Wikipedia

➽ The Neptune Fountain has a checkered history. It's the oldest fountain figure in Augsburg cause it's assumed that the figure in 1518 has emerged. It was made of bronze and probably designed by Augsburg sculptor Hans Daucher, what the city didn't particularly thanked him (see description on this photo)! (own comment!)
The fountain sculpture is composed of the body of the sea god, holding a trident in his right hand. In his left hand is a little dolphin. Currently, the figure stands on a stone pedestal of marble from Crailsheim.
The fountain was several times displaced over time until 1888 it received his present location. Source: Wikipedia
