Tollesbury

Here we are on the River Blackwater,Tollesbury in Essex. Not far from the sea, and so very tidal. These fences act as coastal erosion protection on this part of the river.
A Happy Easter to all my viewers
Lowry Days

A blast from the past. This old slide taken some forty odd years ago reminds us of the latest past Winter and the old joys of enjoying the snow. This hill has now changed somewhat with new apartments etc covering the top edge and certainly no access to the public any more. The title and photo is reminiscent to the style of our famous Salford artist L.S Lowry. Enjoy.
Eglwyseg view

Looking towards the Offa's Dyke Path along the base of the escarpment called 'Worlds End', near the village of Eglwyseg. This spot is only a few miles from the bustling town of Llangollen.
Llangollen, The Panorama walk

Back to my roots, so to speak, with pure landscapes. Here we have a rather cloudy view at the top of the escarpment just above the Panorama walk near Llangollen, Wales. From where I am, I can also see the ruins of the old Castell Dinas Bran but that's another story.
A Salford Quays view
Here in Manchester we have our equivalent of Amsterdam. A view from one of the many bridges across the old waterways of the old Manchester docks now know as the Salford Quays. For many years a dilapidated eyesore now a desirable place to live and wander. Well done Manchester and its neighbour Salford.
See PiP for the whole colour view from this bridge.
Salford Quays lift bridge

Walk with me across this impressive bridge in my nearest city.
The Salford Quays lift bridge, also known as the Salford Quays Millennium footbridge or the Lowry bridge, is a 91.2-metre long vertical lift bridge spanning the Manchester Ship Canal between Salford and Trafford in Greater Manchester opened in 2000.
An old mill in Oldham

Fence, stairs and grid shadows as seen on one of our local mills. A nostalgic view for all those that have laboured in such places. HFF to all my viewers.
PiP for alternative colour version.
Winter Pink

A touch of colour to show us the way to Spring. I believe this is the common weed/flower called Vetch. Seen popping out of the new snow in my local valley besides the stream.
PiP shows this small plant on right of river!
Approaching Dusk

A view towards Altea in Spain. Great signs of a fine sunset -somewhere! For me almost a painting in the clouds. Nothing betters nature it seems.
Street Musician in Altea

Now this fellow really takes his busking seriously. We don't see that many with such a professional mic and music stand. Taken near the old church high above the town. He played standards as well as Spanish classical stuff.
Happy Fence Day

Playa de Levante, Benidorm

Love it or hate it, Benidorm has something for most people, including me! This is looking North from the Balcon de Mediterraneo. Behind the city-scape is the splendid walking area of the Sierra Helada Natural Park.
I must admit that these building have caused me to have some problems trying to possibly make sure that they were all straight and then correct that. In the end, I just left alone and put it down to my eyes!
Its tough being a sheep
Seen in the recent Winter snowstorms -just a mile or so from home. I'm always amazed how these sheep can be out in all weathers. The chances are that they are both pregnant too as lambing time is usually March/April.
Dovestones yachts fantasia.
No it is not night-time with a giant lamp on these yachts. It is simply the low, rather bright sun lighting these sails, making a great coloured reflection especially for me.
Teides - Volcanic splendours.

The centerpiece of the Island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. This place on Earth has to be seen to be believed. A cablecar runs almost to to the top of this volcano which is also covered in snow during some Winter months
HAPPY FENCE FRIDAY
Good morning from Altea, Spain. As the sun rises above the horizon a new day is said to begin but actually it bagan almost an hour back with the first signs of dawn just around the big outcrop of Peñón d'Ifach that you can see here on your left. As on that day, the fence shows us the way to go. I wish you all a HFF.
ps, PiP's here too!
Oh what a beautiful Winter

There's something about snow and sun that makes it all worth it. We don't get too much of this here -when it snows, its dull and cold and miserable but on this day in our local park, the world was once again beautiful. Just a few hours of snow before a sudden thaw making my trip out, well worth it.
Nb Three more beautiful shots taken at the same time. PiP (top left)
