New life is always good to see. Here we have an adult Canadian Goose and its goslings next to the Hudderfield canal here in Uppermill Saddleworth.
Good morning from Port Solent

An early morning stroll along the promenade of Port Solent, Portmouth reveals some wonderful reflections through the early misty conditions.
Dune Fence
There are fences everywhere in Britain. Here we see a lone fence on a big beach at Formby Point near Southport.
HFF to all, and enjoy your weekend, Herb
See Pip for my other Dune fence.

Abbaye de Jumièges
Just one of the splendours of the Jumièges Abbey ruins. This was a Benedictine monastery, founded in 645 and rebuilt by the Duke of Normady in 942. Here we are looking down the nave to the choir of the abbey church.

Cherry Blossom time

Ah, we can always tell when Winter is over and the Summer is just around the corner when we see these beautiful trees in blossom. Seeing this, I can quite understand why so much music was named after them. Enjoy the Summer.

A bobbing fishing boat with its deep new colours harmonises nicely with the sea and sky here. To the left is the lieutenancy building (la Lieutenance).
Classic Honfleur 2

Against my normal instinct, I have posted here another picture of the Port de Honfleur here. Please forgive me if this is just my indulgence, otherwise enjoy.
See PiP's for alternate Honfleur photos.
Classic Honfleur

The classic view of Honfleur and its magnificent inner harbour. I have visited many seaside villages and towns like this but I must admit to this being possibly the best one for reflections such as this. I think you will agree with me, a perfect place for a walk, something to eat and some beautiful photos. The bright outside cafe awnings make a fitting contribution to this old town.
ps -deserves full screen treatment :) .............. See PiP's

From Deauville to Trouville

Here I am in the resort of Deuville looking across the river to Trouville. Both are equally as beautiful but a hint of Summer caught my eye.
A Calp view
The water plops and gurgles around this pool as I gaze towards the Spanish town of Calp and its impressive rock. Behind me I hear the clunk of glasses as tourist take a seat outside the little headland café and the take in the same view.

I just love reflections. Especially when they are as interesting and colourful as this. Seen in Honfluer's inner harbour. Enjoy!

"Its OK for you with that camera, you are not pulling this thing around all day" - they seem to be thinking as he looks at me. A great pair of horses, obviously well looked after and enjoying there job of pulling a wonderful carriage of tourist around these narrow streets.
Another one that works well in full screen.
Down to Yeoman Hey

Looking down from Greenfield reservoir to Yeoman Hey Reservoir, on quite a dull day. This is my usual local walking area.
Lee grad filter used to darken already leaden skies.

This giant bridge in the desert is in reality a 25cm piece of drift-wood on the beach at Formby Point near Southport on the Lancashire coast. A magic moment caught just moments before all was gone again.
Another that deserves to be viewed full screen.

A historical back streets of Honfleur holds many mysteries as well as beauty. Here we see the interplay of light and shadows on both the steps and cobblestone which is always a favourite subject for me.
Best viewed full screen, black background :)
Stormy skies over Pont de Normandie

Walking along the famous River Seine in the early evening can result in witnessing some impressive lighting. These clouds were to bring some heavy rain during the night but thankfully all was well again for the next day. The sun-beams here were almost like watching the Aurora Borealis , coming and going.
A road bridge salutes a yacht!

All pedestrian and car traffic comes to a halt as this yacht sails into this small inner harbour. Enjoy the reflections here.
Seen in the pretty town of Honfleur, France.
