Because it's Summer
A rare subject nowadays for my Ipernity. Flower closeups. This taken in our garden on a very warm day to checkout my newly acquired Nikon 105mm macro lens.

It is actually the very end tip of one of our many Astilbe plants, also known as 'False goat's beard'

Enjoy full screen and beware that hot sun.

Yes. 39ºC today and forecast over 40ºC tomorrow. As you know, Herb they're both over the 100ºF mark. I'm old enough to think in terms of fahrenheit for the heat but, like many, I switch to centigrade (or is it celsius) for the cold in winter!

This is an excellent close up image Herb............wonderful sharpness and detail with gorgeous bokeh. Great too see!

I used to use the 105mm macro when I was a Nikon shooter..........it's an awesome lens and I sometimes think I should have kept and used it on my Olympus camera with an adapter!

Glad you liked this one Keith. Looks like a very nice lens indeed but I need a wheelbarrow to carry it :) The bokeh is very nice. All I need now is your imagination for such close-ups and macros that you do.

Our garden takes on a different shine with such a lens Rosa. I used to take many close ups of flowers on my old Olympus SLR but my Nikon system was never at its best for that. this lens should put things to rights. So yes, you can expect more such things form me.
