HBM ~ Deirbhile's Twist picnic spot

HBM ~ Deirbhile's Twist picnic spot
We are on the Belmulet peninsula here not far from Blacksod. We come by a fascinating Stonehenge look-alike called Deirbhile's Twist. The village is called An Fál Mór (Fallmore).

Please see the preceding photo for description of that.

ps The big wavy metal object is a sign denoting the 'Wild Atlantic Way': 'The Wild Atlantic Way is a tourism trail on the west coast, and on parts of the north and south coasts, of Ireland. The 2,500 km (1600m) driving route passes through nine counties and three provinces, stretching from County Donegal's Inishowen Peninsula in Ulster to Kinsale, County Cork, in Munster, on the Celtic Sea coast.'. The first PiP is indeed awesome. Are the stones as high as in Stonehenge? HBM Herb.

Glad you liked the art installation Christa. In answer to your question: No these stones are nowhere near as big as those at Stonehenge. That being said, they must have taken some shaping and moving.

It's a lovely view, seeing the houses dotted around the countryside, but spoilt by that tall rusty looking object. Is it another art installation? The two PiPs are superb. HBM.

Have a good new week and keep cool,
Rosa.

Glad you liked it Rosa. I wanted to give folk an idea of the population dwellings around here.

Haha, that rusty object is the metallic sign that denotes 'The 'Wild Atlantic Way' that goes for some hundreds of miles Rosa. We had these too in Connemara much further south when we were there some years back.

This was nice to walk around. The Wild Atlantic Way is meant to be for vehicles but it does follow many footpaths and small lanes.

An solch einen historischen Ort gehören Steinbänke. PiP #2 mit den stimmungsvollen Wolken ist mein Favorit. HBM und einen guten Start in die Woche, Herb!

In that Wilhem you are right about the benches. The historic stone monument though is an illusion. See the descriptions with the stones.

I quite the look of those tables and benches...........and that great lump of rock. The wildflowers in the grass are very attractive.

I hope you're coping OK with the heat Herb............I only ask because the man on the news said we need to keep an eye out for the elderly :-))

Great that you like this overall scene Keith. It was most interesting.

Keith you are the first person ever here on Ipernity who has expressed such a kind thought regarding my age :) - we are doing fine with a mix of thick curtain, window and door closures. 35 here today (Tuesday). Hope you are fairing equally as well my friend.

Maybe they just fell off with the ages of millennium Gordon. Or else somebody decided to make such a piece of standing stone art in their private garden.

Keep cool today - no trekking about on those hot moorlands.
