A vision of Wastwater
A view from the western shore picnic area. In warmer weather these rocks are festooned with picnickers. In the water you can see some lively souls having a bit of fun and a dip.
Again we are seeing the impressive Yewbarrow to the left of us and the pointed peak of Great Gables (899 m) looking like a great pyramid directly centre stage. Now we are also starting to see England's highest mountain 'Scafell Pike' at 978 m coming in on the right side.

I've really enjoyed this little series from Wastwater Herb............just when I think you can't find another angle...........a shot like this pops up! Beautifully composed as always and you always seem to find some lovely light despite the weather!

I like your narratives as well, the way you describe the scenery...........you obviously know the area well and are comfortable there!

Great to read your narrative here Keith. A fine lake with, some very interesting weather. Some more of this lake to come but at another time. I don't think I know this area very well at all but we were here for a week walking each day and my wife Eileen had done the research to walk so we always carried a guide of some sort as well as a map. Google helps a lot too :)

A painters dream, not just in water-colours either but as you say these colours and low contrast scenes are just so suited to water colours. I only wish I could do them justice with my rare attempts at the genre. Nice to see you here, of course.
