The River Twiss looking towards Twisleton Scar.

The River Twiss looking towards Twisleton Scar.
Perhaps a last look at this river and valley as we climb out of the waterfall section before taking another valley and river back to the beginning of this Ingleton Waterfall Trail walk. A lovely scenic section of wild Yorkshire Dales landscape to come before we do that though.

Enjoy full size.

Quite a barren landscape at first glance.........but it has a beauty all of it's own when you look deeper...............there are some lovely subtle green and brown colours in the grasses, the dry stone wall is beautiful and there is that majestic-looking escarpment in the background.

The river draws the eye into the shot nicely and I love the ripples and other water movement.

Mix in some gorgeous light.............and the job's a good 'un..!!

Some parts of this area is very lonely indeed Keith but some farms are just a short distant from here besides many footpaths. As well as that, there are always loads of people around at this point. The colours were very nice and the escaprments are attractive in this light too. Of course the river here was marvelous, not knowing at this point the many drops t would fall soon. Very happy, again that you liked it.

Enjoy this Easter Monday and keep safe.

The names, straight out of Tolkein as said below. He did in fact get many of his ideas from this area even though Birmingham was his birth place. Very happy that you enjoyed this.

Memories from one of my photos to you again my friend. Yes, your famous trees abound around here Toz and maybe I can demonstrate that soon too. Your feet will be itchy for a trip up here I know. This stop at home is a real pain for sure.

River Twiss and Twisleton Scar sound like something out of Lord of the Ring. The landscape looks appropriately wild.

Yes Tolkein did a lot of his research for names, from this Yorkshire Dales area. They do sound like Hobbit names for sure. Glad you liked it Sarah.

A beautiful landscape with some interesting geology showing when viewed large. I really love those drystone walls, only rarely found over here. Stay safe, Herb.
