Hi Peter, yes I have always valued the right kind of clouds in my pictures. Lots of the time, here in Oldham, we have constant thick overcast grey - hopeless for landscapes!

I suppose the striking thing here is no trees!
A plain rugged landscape, to which the grey clouds seem very appropriate and contextual..

Many thanks Peter for your return home greeting. It was a great trip with many photos taken of which I am sure, many will appear here shortly. Lots are full of trees :) In the meantime, my last few photos of my two previous holidays to Ireland and Carsington Water are being quickly put on here now before I start with another trip. I have just a couple of months before my next trip to Devon. HaHa, I must do nearly as much travelling as you do :) Great that you enjoyed this one.

A typically superb image to mark your return as well. The diffused light is gorgeous and the view is fantastic. I especially like the detail and the earthy colours in the foreground. Nice one!
