Waterwheel fence

Waterwheel fence
An aged look for a very old waterwheel at Portland Basin museum here at Ashton-u-Lyne. A short arm of the Ashton Canal flowed directly into the building through three archways so that boats could load and unload undercover. This interesting waterwheel (1839) powered the hoists that transferred goods to and from the upper floors.

I wish you all, a great Easter weekend, Herb
A must, on full screen black.

Thanks a lot Keith. Yes, I saw some potential as a monochrome as I took this one and immediately thought of our HFF group. Glad you enjoyed it.

Still sitting here coughing sneezing over my monitor screen and keyboard. One of the few things I feel comfortable enough to do. I dread getting this chesty cold virus which I seem to do about every two or three years. I invariably have to go to the doctors and try and get something proper for it but I always have to wait it out for some weeks. I think I caught it doing some charity work in a big hall surrounded by a hundred others just a week ago today! Ah well -that's life.

Cheers, Herb

Love the light and shadows here Herb. Works well in black and white, - fits the subject perfectly. My apologies for the late HFF. I hope you have had a very good Easter break

Thanks so much Carol. Very happy that you like this latest HFF entry from me. When I saw it I thought it might work well in mono as it was a bit dark and confusing in the original colour. Hope you had a great Eater too. Our weather is already turning back to the normal overcast cool stuff..

Best wishes and belated HFF to you too. Herb
