St. Mary's Basilica from the Cloth Hall, Krakow

St. Mary's Basilica from the Cloth Hall, Krakow
Here in the old main square of Krakow, one of largest medieval town squares in Europe, are a multitude of things to photograph. As a tourist though, almost every architectural gem is marred by hoards of fellow tourist and so here am I, at around 06.45, to avoid all that. Enjoy with me a tribute in the art form of yesteryear. See PiPs

A beautifully composed b/w image, Herb. Yes, the throngs of tourists rarely feature in the PR for various attractions.

Your framing is very good, the lamps are well placed without obscuring important bits of the building opposite. Hats off to you for getting up so early:-)

Thanks Rosa. Krakow had many such archways onto fine buildings like this but whenever I saw one there were streams of people passing in front. Glad you liked this early shot.

I imagine , like me here, that they got there early before the crowds. Cheers for the call here, Herb

Hi Gudrin and thanks for your comments. I have four books of Time 'Life Library of Photography', which are quite old now but they taught me a lot about composition that I have never looked back on. No books on telling me to get up early to catch shots like this though :) Glad you enjoyed it.
Cheers, Herb
