Thanks Steve. An unusual sight for sure as this log was quite big -about 8ft long. Always good to see you and your comments here.

Thank you Malik. The rock is indeed volcanic as we saw much more of this in the nearby hills. It must have been quite active here not too long ago,

Enjoy your Sunday too, Herb

The title was easy as this bay of Portor is really called 'Whistling Sands'. As you know, I have always tried to add an appropriate title to my shots. Nothing worse than just the default camera photo number. Glad you like the scene too.

What a lovely name, Whistling Sands is! It does look like an unusual sea creature stuck in the rocks Herb! Well spotted and taken.
Best wishes, Rosa.

Hi Rosa, nice to be back and reading your comments. When you think about it, we have some fine names for our little coves and bays -all very descriptive of what things must have seemed like a few years ago - Hell's Mouth- (Porth Neigwl) was just a few miles from here. Glad you like my 'sea creature'.

A beautiful image with great depth Herb. I like the textures in the volcanic rock formation and the log makes for some eye catching interest. A lovely background of rolling hills and blue sky!

Hi Keith, back from my week in Wales now. Good that you enjoyed this rock and log so. This was one of the few times we had sun the whole week -at least it was cool enough to sleep OK there. More snaps to come of that week.

A two shot compilation with my new Tokina 11-16 David as the sky was very bright compared to the bottom of the rock. Glad you like this one.
