Fair Play
This is a contest run for the entertainment of the members of the group. Although there is no prize, all entrants are expected to play honourably and respect their fellow entrants at all times. You must not vote for your own entry, or prefer your friends or countrymen. Do not advertise for your own, or the photos of other participants, or vote under different user names.
If you break these simple rules of fair play, you can be excluded from further participation.
Note that you are not obligated to enter every contest when you join the group, you can miss one (or more) for a holiday, or if the subject does not suit you.
Basic Rules
Dates: Monthly on fixed dates, but variable times to suit the moderator.
Photos: Add up to 3 photos matching the contest topic.
Voting: List your favourites in a single post.
Counting: Votes are counted and the results announced.
Winning: The photo with the most points wins.
Moderation: The contest will be moderated by the group administrators.
Detailed Rules
Failing to obey the following rules, may mean your photo or vote is excluded.
For more serious infringements, you may also be disqualified from taking part in the contest in the following month.
You may be advised of an infringement, and be given the option to correct the error.
Note that there is a separate "General: Questions and Answers" discussion, to keep these rules concise.
1. Dates and Times
a) Submitting a Photo: between the 12th and end of month.
b) Posting a Vote: between the 1st and 7th.
c) Counting Votes and announcing the results: 8th.
d) Determining the subject for next contest: before 12th.
e) The times do not have to be mid-night UTC, or even local time,
because the moderator declares this in their opening post, eg 22:00 Rome time.
[09/dec/2018: dates revised, 2 less for voting, 3 more for sending photos]
2. Submitting Your Photos
See extra details below (*), after these step by step instructions.
a) You will have to join this group before you can submit a photo.
b) The photo must not already exist in your gallery, you can of course upload to your gallery AFTER the contest.
c) The photo cannot have borders, frames, watermarks that could identify you. (*c)
d) Attach the photo to an email, to the address that we told you when you joined the group, or contact us for a reminder. (*d)
e) Put the photo title in the email Subject line, put your ipernity name in the message body. (*e)
f) When submitting a second or third photo, compose separate messages.
g) Please be patient before expecting to see your photo in the account. (*g)
h) If the moderator considers your photo to be "off topic", the reason will be explained, and you can try again. (*h)
i) You may change a photo, but not after voting has started. You will need to contact the moderator, regarding which photo is to be removed, and note that the new photo will be positioned as the newest addition to the group.
j) You may request a photo be removed from the contest, but not after voting has started.
Extra details
*c) Because watermarks are not allowed, we suggest resizing your photo to a lower resolution, so that someone taking an illegal copy, will not have your higher resolution original. Perhaps a maximum 1600px side, or 2000x900 for wide panoramics.
Exif data is not a problem, it is not shown because of the account settings.
*d) The address is created by ipernity and allows the attached photo to be added to Iper SPC automatically.
For your own interest, and not required for the game,
to find your own email upload address,
click "+ Upload photos" and then see the "By email" link on the left.
You can also then click "Learn more, settings ..."
You might like to upload a photo by email to yourself, not the one intended for the contest, to understand how it works, to see how the Subject, and the content of the message, will appear when added to the Iper SPC account.
*e) The subject and message are used by the ipernity upload. It is essential that you include your ipernity name, as it is the only way we know who sent it. The file name of the attached photo is not important.
*g) For the SPC account, the setting for new content is "Only me", so only the moderators see the title and author, which will be noted before being erased. Then the photo can be made visible to everyone. Also, this means there will be some delay before you can see your photo, possible over 12 hours depending on time zones. So please be patient before thinking something has failed.
*h) If you see a photo and think the moderator has made a mistake to include it, especially if you are the winner who chose the theme. Please send a message to Iper SPC with your opinion, and do not raise your concern in public.
I am aware of a problem sending from an email account with gmx.de and there may be others, giving the error "no valid MX hosts found".
I did find a possible solution on the web, requiring action at the ipernity end. I have raised a ticket, with the information. Until it is fixed, a solution may be to sign up for a free email account, such as gmail or yahoo.
Your email service provider may have a limit on the size of attachment, so this is also something to consider, regarding the number of pixels and the jpg compression quality when you save the new file.
You will of course obey the standard ipernity rules regarding content of images.
3. Posting a Vote
a) You will have to join the group before you can post your first vote.
b) Your vote must be for exactly the required number of photos.
calculated as 10% of entries, rounded up, so 51 photos means you vote for 6.
but if only 40 or less photos, the requirement will be 5.
c) Do not vote for your own photo.
d) Anyone who is a member of this group may vote, even when they have not submitted a photo.
e) If you entered a photo, you should feel obligated to vote.
f) If you need to edit your vote, do this in your existing post, do not create a new one.
g) List the entry numbers of the photos for which you want to vote, and post
it in the discussion for the current contest, using this format: #2,4,6,8,10
It must start with a #, and be on one line, the numbers can be separated by commas or stops, with or without spaces.
The order does not matter, and does not affect the score.
4. Counting Votes
a) One point is counted for each of the photos listed by the voter.
b) An entrant receives a bonus point if they post a vote, but this is only applied to the highest placed photo if they submitted two or three.
c) Ties are decided by entry number, with the lowest number being listed ahead of the others.
5. Winning
a) The photo with the most points wins. There is no material prize, but it is good to know your photo was liked by so many fellow photographers!
b) As a reward, the winner can choose the next topic, but may pass this option on to the runners up.
6. Topic
a) A good topic will be general enough to allow almost anyone to enter,
but specific enough to make the entries similar and easy to compare.
b) Please give consideration to the world wide extent of the membership,
and avoid a topic that is limited to a country or continent.
c) The topic from a previous contest may be used again, but reasonably, not for at least a year.
d) The topic will have to be accepted by the group administrators.

Foto: aggiungere fino a 3 foto corrispondenti all'argomento del concorso.
Votazione: elenca i tuoi preferiti in un singolo post.
Conteggio: vengono contati i voti e vengono annunciati i risultati.
2. Invio delle foto
Vedere i dettagli extra (*), dopo queste regole dettagliate.
h) Wenn der Moderator Ihr Foto für "off topic" hält (also Thema verfehlt), wird Ihnen der Grund erklärt und Sie können es erneut versuchen. (*h)
f) Wenn Sie Ihre Stimme verändern müssen, tun Sie dies in Ihrem bestehenden Beitrag, erstellen Sie keinen neuen.
5.Gewinnen
