Vardohus Fortress
Facing the old Vardohus Fortress, in the far north of Norway - better viewed large. HFF and best wishes for the weekend, everyone.
My involvement on ipernity is limited at present, so my apologies if I do not respond to your comments or visit your images - I shall try to do so as far as possible.
Havoysund morning
Early on a cloudy morning at Havoysund.
The wind picked up
Some wind picked up as we headed toward Hammerfest, lifting drifting snow from the hillsides. Another LNG tanker at right.

Hammerfest
Hammerfest, at 70 39' 48" N, claims to be the "World's Northernmost Town" (PiP). Though that may be open to debate from some other towns, it is certainly the largest north of 70 degrees. When we arrived the wind was still bringing drifting snow, though that soon cleared. Best viewed large.

There's something in this Hammerfest park for everyone, as long as you don't mind some snow. :-) Best on black. HFF and have a great weekend, everyone.

Organ angles
We had seen Tromso's Arctic Cathedral from the ship on our northward trip (PiP1), so it was great to be able to visit it for a midnight concert on our return trip (PiPs 2,3,4). It is an impressive building, built from slabs of poured concrete. These are the cathedral's organ pipes, which of course call for a musical link.

From the Arctic Cathedral
The view from outside the Arctic Cathedral, looking across the Tromso harbour (the landscape in the PiPs for my previous image of the Cathedral was taken from the far side, to the left of this image). No traffic, because the time was well after midnight. Best viewed on black. HFF and have a great weekend, everyone.

The title of this image may not be obvious, but it's the name of this coastal freighter we passed near Norway's Lofoten Islands. Best viewed large. Here's a musical link.

Lofoten view
Somewhere in Norway's Lofoten Islands between Harstad and Svolvaer. The weather wasn't perfect, but it certainly could have been worse! View on black.
