Across the harbour
Bergen, across the harbour from near our hotel.

How's your eyesight?
If you peer very carefully at the base of the statue, you'll see that it's a statue of Holberg. Ludvig Holberg was a writer, essayist, philosopher etc, but most of all he was born in Bergen, where this statue is found. Another famous native of Bergen was Edvard Grieg, who wrote the music in this link. HFF and Happy Midwinter everyone (well, maybe it's summer where you are), have a great weekend.

Bryggen lane
The old buildings and narrow lanes of the Bryggen area of Bergen were fascinating.

Along the front
The colourful old Hanseatic buildings in Bergen. Cunningly disguised (unlike most places) there's even one with scaffolding! Large on black looks best I feel.
Old door, Bergen
You just have to wonder how much history doors like this have seen!
Door frame, Bergen
The interesting problem with this image was deciding on a vertical ! I think I came close. :-) As I haven't posted one lately, maybe it's time for a musical link.
