Red Wattlebird

These gain their name from the red 'wattles', the small red pendant below their ears. They eat nectar, so with the callistemons (bottlebrush) coming into bloom it's 'party time' for them.

This is stunning on that white sky background, George. I can clearly see the red pendant. It's possible to grow the bottle-brush plant in mild areas of the UK, but we don't have this bird here.
