shocked and grieved today. an indescribably loss. some will be rebuilt, but it will never be the same.

I KNOW HOW NOTRE DAME WAS SO IMPORTANT. IT WAS AN ARCHITECTURAL KEY.Y DAD WAS AN ARCHITECT AND I GREW UP WITH THE HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE IN MY BLOOD.

SHE WILL RISE FROM THE ASHES AN A NEW RENAISSANCE WILL START.

CRAFTSMEN WILL COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.

I ALSO HAVE A DEAR FRIEND IN ENGLAND WHOSE FATHER WAS A STONE MASON AND HE RESTORED THE STONE WORK OF MANY ENGLISH CATHEDRALS.

TONIGHT HIS ANGEL WILL VISIT MANY CRAFTSMEN AND GUIDE THEM.

The news is horrifying, but the French people have the will to rebuild this national icon. There will be money and expertise made available to do this. Thank you for the photo and the musical link, George.

It was truly horrifying to see how the flames kept going late into the night in spite of the efforts of hundreds of firemen. Let's hope the structure will keep standing so they can rebuild.

terrible loss

We all share the feeling of loss here. I too have walked the interior of this great cathedral. Hopefully lessons will be learned and it will be restored to its former glory again. We in Britain know only too well the recent loss and damage by fire of some of our finest and oldest buildings.

I am devastated. This is / was my all-time favourite cathedral.

A superb picture George. A shocking event! I would doubt that it could be rebuilt in five years, but I would love to be wrong.
