Jardín del Príncipe de Anglona

A peaceful refuge in the old town, easy to miss if you walk past as access is only through a small door and the garden is walled and of sight from the surrounding streets.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Sarah O' clubI had a peaceful day as classes have more or less broken up for Easter. The first classless day since New Year and I appreciated the break even if I didn't appreciate the lack of earnings! A fairly full day of classes today so I have to go in a minute! But then 4 free days from Thursday which I'm looking forward to.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneAndy Rodker club has replied to Anton Cruz Carro clubMany thanks!
... following morning - I looked it up, Anton and realised I have walked past it many times without knowing its name and without realising it vcould be visited and, indeed, itseems it is a much visited place. I shall visit when next I can!
I'm so sorry to have not wished you a happy birthday before now - so please see this as a happy belated birthday wish. x
Andy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubThis little garden was neglected and overgrown until the local authorities decided to restore it to its past glory and this they did in the 90s. When I first visited Madrid (to see my sister who had just moved here in 1981), she had a room almost next door to it and there was no sign of it!
I discovered it exactly 30 years later as one of the academies I worked with had their offices nearby and I asked a fellow teacher if she knew of a quiet place where I could eat my packed lunch. She told me about this garden.
Best regards, Doug
