Rebuilding

Rebuilding
Christchurch is rebuilding after two severe earthquakes within months (Sept 2010 and Feb 2011) killed many and left the city in ruins. Almost the entire city area has been cleared, as few buildings remained safely usable: these empty buildings await demolition. Massively solid-framed buildings are being erected. Ouch! Sympathies to those affected. I'm glad they're rebuilding more sturdily, because you _know_ there will be more earthquakes, sooner or later.

when we watched on television these disasters our hearts sunk,
and so its good that rebuilding is taking place ... I imagine they always
have the fear in their minds that it will happen again sadly.

Oh dear, it's taking so long to rebuild! I was there end of 2009 and again in 2012- the contrast was just awful- such widespread devastation!
