Pharmacy in Havana

Havana – Calle-Brasil
Health indicators such as life expectancy, mortality of newborns and children, cure rate for cancer, etc., are also important. Cuba is much better in comparison with other Latin American countries. This is because health care is open to all and free of charge. The doctors work proactively and visit patients at home. The research is connected with the daily work of the doctors. A great deal is invested in the training of professionals: Cuba trains ten times more doctors than Switzerland each year.
But anyone who falls seriously ill has a problem: the waiting times for medical treatment are long, the clinics are understaffed, and there is a shortage of everything - from bedding to medication. Antibiotics are in short supply, and even aspirin is not available for ordinary Cubans.
The doctors are paid so badly that bribery is commonplace. The buildings are crumbling, hygiene is poor, operating rooms are not disinfected. To quote from a report by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting: "Some bathrooms have no toilets or sinks, and the water supply is erratic. Bat droppings, cockroaches, mosquitos and mice are all in evidence."

polytropos club has replied to Gudrun clubDas ist 10 Jahre her; vielleicht haben sie das inzwischen auch gemacht. ;-)
