End of the Beach

Rocks between Doran beach and Pinnacle Gulch. Mango and I usually sit on the big rock in the foreground to look at the sea. The sand was very low this day. Printed 23 February 2013.

Laguna Lake Sunset

Laguna Lake in the distance grows and shrinks dramatically depending on the rains. Luther Burbank's brother David lived in this area about 125 years ago when Luther decided to join him in California. That is how Luther Burbank came to Santa Rosa.

Foothill Bridge

This place has special personal significance to me. I've never made a good photograph here, but was pleased with this one. 1/4 second exposure, I braced myself as well as I could. My first roll of FP4+ and so far I like it a lot! Printed 31 January 2013.

The lakes at Foothill Regional Park do not have very imaginative names.
Handheld at 1/8 second, I'm not that good: it's a little soft, but it was a beautiful evening.

There are many places in Sonoma County where walnut trees grow "wild" like this. They turn bright yellow in autumn.
