Crab Apples

I found these on a piece of waste land near to where I live. Locals come and pick the apples during the autumn.
Eaten raw, crab apples are sour and astringent but there are many recipes available for making chutney, jam or jelly with them.

Keith Burton club has replied to Herb Riddle clubThe wastel and is the site of a long-demolished school, which the council have been threatening to do something with for years........and to be honest it's an eyesore, but it can provide some decent things to photograph. It's actually my old school which I left in 1968..!!
Glad you like the photo though :-)
