Aggregates Wharf, Bedhampton

Aggregates Wharf, Bedhampton
This wharf and storage site is situated right on the edge of a local coastal park. It's been there ever since I can remember and does a roaring trade in marine dredged aggregates. Although it's a bit of an eyesore it can also be quite photogenic (if you like that sort of thing) and it doesn't seem to bother the wildlife. You can see a barge and it's towing boat moored up at the moment.

Best viewed large, I think.

In the PiP is another shot I took of it about 10 years ago if you're interested.

Richard Crépy, Frans Schols, David G Johnson, Rosalyn Hilborne and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

Maybe not the nicest place..........but as you say, the gravel is needed.

These things are needed and I like the pictures you have captured very much. We do tend to concentrate of the pretty things. The wildlife adapts to most things.

You can't beat a bit of an eyesore Keith,.. the 'pip' reminds of the ''Grim places'' group within the old 'Panoramio'..... I used to enjoy it - because it was always easy to find some 'grim place' !!
