It's normally very busy with a lovely view of the sea, but at the moment the view is obscured by heavy machinery and vehicles due to restoration work being carried out on the sea walls.

A lot of benches here Keith. Always good to see lighthouses and even though I have been to Southsea I cannot remember this. Would be even nicer in the golden hour though. Well done.

Thank you Herb. The castle and lighthouse are towards the Portsmouth Harbour end of the promenade. See my reply to Ecobird above to find out why the benches were empty.

I hear what you say about the golden hour...........but this was as good as it got that day. It was all downhill afterwards.

I'm pleased you like it Wilhelm. See my reply to Ecobird (above) to understand why the benches are all empty. There are lots of concerts there in the summer and they were always very popular before covid-19. I hope there will be more this summer!
