A cold day on the sea front at Southsea, Hampshire. The old Victorian shelters have a bench on each side, although no one seemed to be using them on this day. You can see South Parade Pier in the background. I was particularly impressed by the man balancing a flagpole on his head :-)

Happy Bench Monday to you all. Thank you for all your visits, comments and/or yellow stars over the past week. Always appreciated.

Have an enjoyable week ahead if you possibly can and take care!

We do like to be beside the seaside Keith, whatever the weather! I love these Victorian shelters. I almost posted a similar one from Weymouth. I'll keep it for next time!

Now that's a clever man, but he could have added a flag ;-) HBM.
Hope you have a good and peaceful new week.

Thank you Rosa. I'm looking forward to seeing your version from Weymouth.

It was a bit windy...........he might have had difficulty standing if he'd added a flag :-)))

Lots to see and enjoy is this excellent view along the promenade and pier Keith, It's good to see Victorian standards are being maintained that's a credit to the local authorities I assume,
A grey day but a terrific capture and the flag pole man is a bonus;-)
Have a great week.

Thanks very much Roger............glad you approve. There are a number of these shelters all of which have been restored over the last couple of years, but I'm afraid that they get vandalised quite often, and most of the glass has already been replaced with perspex.

I didn't even notice the flagpole was growing out of his head until I posted it. I need to check my composition more carefully in future :-)))

Schön, dass man diese schmucken Schutzhütten und Laternen pflegt. Der Mann ist wohl ein Jongleur vom Zirkus ;-)
HBM und einen guten Start in die Woche, Keith!

HBM, have a good day. Herb

Do you know Keith... I spend many an hour practicing pole balancing and am still no where near that standard... // Those shelters are ideal - a 'no windy' side can always be found...// Keep well and go steady.. Cheers'.. from Dj.

The flagpole man was balancing spinning plates on the end of the pole and has just dropped them onto the shingle beach, and is now debating whether to get them or not.

Thanks very much Güni............glad you like this one, taken back when I used to join in with the HBM group.

I'm not surprised no one was using the benches in the shelter...........it was freezing cold..!!

I hope you've been having a good day..............best wishes, Keith :-)
