Natural Abstracts

During a walk in Stansted Park and Forest, West Sussex, I came across a large pile of logs which were in the process of being sawn up.

These are close up images of the patterns, textures and shapes in the sawn end of some of the logs. I have increased the contrast and the saturation slightly to make the patterns clearer. I thought they make wonderful natural abstracts.
