First day of spring


It's a fool's game, trying to predict weather from the calendar.
Yes, today is the first day of "Spring," and we've had enough above-zero temperatures in the past week that the ponds are looking like this one -- another day or two of this weather and there'll be no ice at all.
But we have another ten weeks ahead of us during which time we can expect snow. Or at least not be surprised by its appearance.
(Just the same, I don't think the ponds will freeze over much again. No more teenagers driving skidoos across this pond. Not this year.)
