Almost ready

It took a couple of days work to get this little plot ready.
Well, by “days,” I mean a couple of hours each on two or three days. Having loosened and turned the sod a week or so ago, today I took the sod out, dug down about 40 cm, and wheeled in from another corner of the garden five barrow loads of very old horse manure.
By “very old” I mean over fifty years old since no horse has been stabled there since the late 1960s or early 1970s. It is excellent compost for the garden.
I still need to mix the soil and compost better than they are now, and then plant something, but I am already feeling very accomplished.
This little plot is about two metres by 1.5 metres, about three square metres, so something less than about thirty square feet.
Behind it is my older plot, out of which garlics are poking.
