Window view

I have gone up and down the stairs you cannot see, and looked at this
window, for nearly five decades. For half that time, a piece of wood with
two nails and some string has sat halfway up the window. It was part
of an art installation, if I remember correctly. Recently the walls
have been tested for asbestos; thus the bandages.
