Newly minted PhDs, waiting for the moment of being "admitted to the degree"


A week or so ago I spent an afternoon and evening on the stage at the
"Convocation" of the university. In the evening, PhD degrees were
granted and these were some of the graduands, each waiting for his or
her moment.
