The Rope Walk


Bridgwater is a seaport situated on the tidal estuary of the river Parrett, and has been involved in ship building for centuries. Rope making was an important part of shipbuilding and the town had at least 6 rope walks,,,,,,, HBM.
This is the site of the last boatyard in the town and the final launch was in 1907 with the ketch IRENE,
