The "Cafe du Midi" serves croque-monsieurs - HBM

Thanks Carol, indeed, in France you often see cafes with chairs and tables outside, and people sitting there watching the other people passing by (except when it's really cold outside!). I must say I've never heard about plant based cheese, I wonder how it tastes...

Der grüne Magnolienbaum ist eine richtige Augenweide.
Einen Croque-monsieurs würde ich dort gerne einmal probieren - am liebsten draussen bei milden Temperaturen.

Thank you Christa. Some are quite tasty, although many are really bad!! I think it must be difficult to get the texture right. The biggest problem for me is they mostly don't melt - the cheese just sits there!! The best ones are an acceptable alternative - nowhere near perfect but better than not having cheese at all!!

Danke Heide, ja, so ein grüner Baum im Winter ist immer schön anzusehen. Und du hast recht : wenn man draussen sitzt, schmeckt so ein Croque-Monsieur gleich besser ;-))
