From the bottom to the top - HFF

The keep of Loches castle (early 11th C.) is one of the oldest stone dungeons. It is 37m tall and one of the best preserved in Europe today.

Du bas vers le haut : le donjon du château de Loches (début 11ème s.) est l'un des plus anciens donjons de pierre. Haut de 37 m, c’est aussi l’un des mieux conservés en Europe aujourd’hui.

Von unten nach oben: Der Bergfried von Burg Loches (frühes 11. Jh.) ist einer der ältesten Steinbergfriede. Er ist 37 m hoch und einer der am besten erhaltenen in Europa.

Danke Gudrun, bis zum Anfang des 20. Jh. hat er noch als Gefängnis gedient. Eine Flucht war hier sicher unmöglich, die massiven Aussenwänden weisen an der Basis eine Mauerstärke bis zu 3,50 Meter auf !! Noch ein schönes Wochenende.
