A Spin in the Country - HFF!

Cottages on a country road at Over Stowey on the Quantock Hills. Not a very big fence this week but I wanted to share this image and a little piece of the past. The middle cottage with the flowers around the door is the Old Forge building where, In 1932, Quantock weavers Norah Biddulph and Gladys Dickinson set up business spinning and weaving They used local wool and used natural dyes obtained from sources such as brambles, gorse and broom.. The link below provides a little more information .

My husband worked in the area and sometimes used to pop in to visit and chat with the ladies as they were sitting and spinning.
