The paper factory was founded in 1887 by family Schweizer and changed the owner several times. 1930 a hydro power plant with 5 Francis turbines (2.2 MW) was erected. During the last years corrugated board base papers were produced on a waste paper basis, with a capacity of 165000 tons/year. Abandoned since 2013, when 100 employees lost their job. - Austria

The malt factory was built around 1875 and was the most modern factory of its kind at that time in this area. After 1945, the malt factory was nationalised. Reconstruction and modernisation work was last carried out in 1956, and for a time the site was also used as a warehouse. Since production ceased in 1991, the malt factory has stood empty - in increasingly ruinous condition. In November 2020 a major fire destroyed large parts of the building.

The former sugar refinery (founded 1871) was a company that initially produced sugar from molasses and developed into a general chemical company at the beginning of the 1920s. It was the main manufacturer of Zyklon B. After continuing to operate in the GDR after WWII, the company was finally dissolved in 2003.
