1997 Furcula furcula (Sallow Kitten)

Notodontidae, Notodontinae. Wingspan: 28-36mm.

Probably the most common "Kitten" throughout Cornwall, because of the common occurrence of its food-plants (Salix sps).

This species is often confused with the slightly larger Furcula bifida (Poplar Kitten), but as Poplars are rare in Cornwall, identifications of the latter species are treated with suspicion.
