Whitby Abbey

Remains of a 14th century Benedictine Abbey which fell into ruin after Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries. Whitby Abbey suffered further damage from German shelling in WWI. A first monastery at the same site, founded in 657, was destroyed by Danish raids in the 9th century.

Both are very nicely composed and full of super detail...............sharp from front to back. The main image is one of the best I've seen of this location!
Gudrun club has replied to Keith Burton clubI'd like to see the abbey at night one day, with moon and clouds and maybe some bats thrown in for the Dracula feeling....
