Decoration over the arch appears to be symbolic of the Asam brothers' activities (Cosmas Damian was a painter; Egid Quirin a sculptor; they collaborated on church interiors); the central putto wields a mallet and chisel and is carving a miniature castle; the putto on the right appears to hold a measuring rod and a pair of dividers, while the one on the left appears to hold a paint brush up to a canvas, with what may be his model visible to the right.
