Now on course and looking at the orange scree false pass I scrambled up. Why such a mistake? All the passes thus far took the lowest saddle, so I was habituated to that, even though it is not a constant in passes (the other side can be too sheer), the trails routinely disappeared on this pass, making a sketchy trail not seem incorrect, and lastly, many others had done the same and created all those false paths. I don't think they just went for the view. I dread to think anyone may not have figured it out and were compelled to descend down the wrong side.
