I studied my map again and realized the length of the flat draw up the bench was a lot longer. Looking back down on my route, I could see it going farther up the bench, and the last switch went up to a completely different, higher pass. I slid back down the scree in only about 15 minutes, but regretted the lost effort and rookie move.
