Nice - Hommage to Yves Klein

A young legend tells, that avant-garde artist Yves Klein (born in Nice 1927), watching the sky over the Côte d’Azur had the smashing idea, to work "monochromatic". From the mid 1950 he did sets of ultramarine-blue paintings, for which he had created a certain blue, known as "IKB 191" IKB=International Klein Blue), for which he hold a patent.
German artist Gunda Foerster paid hommage to Yves Klein, by giving back some of the blue to his home town. She fixed 167 blue fluorescent light tubes under a railway bridge in 2007 and titled the work of art "BLUE - HOMMAGE AU BLEU D´YVES KLEIN".
